Inside-Out Professor Teaches Courses Combining Police Recruits and Incarcerated Men

August 10, 2018

Inside-Out college courses are unique because they bring incarcerated and non-incarcerated students together for dialogue and learning across profound social differences. Professor Norm Conti, a sociologist from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, has been teaching courses in the Inside-Out method for more than a decade. More recently, Norm has adapted the Inside-Out approach to bring police officers and recruits together with incarcerated men for a series of seminars on the criminal justice system. Learn more about Inside-Out and hear about Norm's innovative approach in his recent interview on the Criminal Injustice Podcast with David Harris.
