Students Break Through Stereotypes, Barriers in Inside-Out Class

January 16, 2025

Students at East Carolina University and Greene Correctional Institution took a class together this fall that not only taught them about the criminal justice system, but also more about each other.

Inside-Out Instructor Michelle Malkin worked over a year with the N.C. Department of Adult Corrections (NCDAC) on a location, secured funding for transporting ECU students on an ECU Transit bus, and created the course curriculum.
