I hope this email finds you all well! As you may know, I was honored to be selected as a Represent Justice Ambassador over a year ago. Represent Justice is an organization that partnered with Warner Bros. in 2019 to launch a social impact campaign alongside the release of Just Mercy, a film highlighting Bryan Stevenson’s transformative work in the fight for justice.
During my ambassadorship, I had the opportunity to reflect on my experiences as someone impacted by the justice system and received training to share my story. This journey inspired me to create a documentary with a powerful message: Disrupted: Injustice, Trauma & Healing. The documentary delves into systemic inequality in marginalized communities in Philadelphia and inner cities across the country, connecting these issues to mass incarceration. Through the lens of race, class, and incarceration, it examines the enduring legacy of slavery while highlighting community building and policy reform as pathways to healing for those impacted by injustice and their loved ones. About the Screening Tour
Represent Justice is partnering with me to host screenings of Disrupted aimed at sparking conversations about the criminalization of poverty and its role in mass incarceration. These screenings will also introduce audiences to healing circles as tools for addressing intergenerational trauma and fostering advocacy and resilience.
